Lightening the Load: A Closet for This Season of Life
This project was all about honoring change and being present in today.
Our client is a young mom whose life has evolved dramatically over the last decade. Her closet told the whole story: college classes and late nights out, pregnancy and nursing, major body changes, and now a new chapter as a healthcare professional working in a hospital. Like so many women, her wardrobe had quietly accumulated layers of past seasons—each one meaningful, but not all of them still serving her.
The task at hand wasn’t just organizing clothes—it was helping her thoughtfully evaluate who she is now and how she wants her closet to support her life today.
Her wardrobe included:
Comfortable at-home clothes
Casual outfits for everyday life
Dressier pieces worn occasionally
Team-specific gear (Go Avs, Go Rockies, Go Broncos!)
Exercise-specific clothing
Workwear, including both scrubs and professional dress
Together, we worked side by side, piece by piece. We asked intentional questions:
Does it fit your body right now?
Do you feel good wearing it?
Does it support the life you’re actually living?
Anything that didn’t meet those criteria - no matter how long it had been hanging there or how much it once cost - was released with purpose. By the end of the process, over 15 bags of donations were headed out the door.
What remained was a closet that felt easy, breathable, and supportive. Getting dressed no longer required navigating old versions of herself. Every category was intentional, every piece earned its place, and her closet finally matched the life she’s living today.
And don’t worry - we made sure at least one club-ready outfit stayed. 😉
Clear shelves, floor and back corners!
Ready for anything from heels to a sports game!
This refreshed closet now supports her active, beautiful, full life - at home, at work, and everywhere in between. A perfect reminder that organization isn’t about perfection or restriction; it’s about creating space for who you are now.
