Maegan and Her Crew Organize and Optimize

Organizing, decluttering, zoning and more has been all the rage for several years now....and now I see why. Sitting around and staring at all your stuff can get old. Some of our once-loved things lying around, just begging to find a new home - sometimes just elsewhere in the same home. Shows about organizing were being binge watched. Designer baskets, bins and containers of all shapes, sizes and materials were suddenly hot commodities. Does this item still bring you joy? Does that one get used anymore? Would it be happier with it’s friend in the bin? It became a whole new hobby.

Our family caught the bug as well. We attempted to purge and organize nearly every room in the house. It was better, but not awesome. Then I met Maegan Keller at a networking event. I had never met a professional organizer before. It was like meeting the elusive tooth fairy! I was so proud of my color-coordinated Christmas decorations in storage that I had to show her a photo. Soon after, we met for a coffee. Not long after that, she and her team of magic-making fairies turned up at my door with supplies, several six-foot folding tables and “product.”

Maegan and team.

Where we started - playroom.

The start of inventory - kid’s room.

The final touches.

The process of making it functional.

How it looks now.

The first project was a four person job, plus my daughter, going through her bedroom, bathroom, playroom and closet. Everything was everywhere and I stayed downstairs. Seeing all the accumulated items was stressful, but it had to be done. Decision-making guidance was ruthless, but necessary. I was proud of my daughter being able to let go of so much. 2.5 bags to donate later, she felt overwhelmed with gratitude for all they helped her accomplish. She had her space(s) back! I was happy we could vacuum the floor again!

Her new room!

“Before Shape Space came and did my room and play room they were always a mess, and my father would organize them. I never knew where anything was before or after. Also, I never put anything away. Maegan and her crew moved my furniture around in a way that made much more sense.

Now my bedroom and play room are very tidy. I can find things so easily. It looks clean and pristine, and I can put things away super well. Everything is labeled so I know where things are and can put them back. All of my belongings are organized and contained in either bins or baskets. I have baskets for backstock, like notebooks and art supplies. It’s like a store. There is little on my surfaces.”
